"The basic difference between an ordinary man and a warrior is that a warrior takes everything as a challenge, while an ordinary man takes everything as a blessing or a curse" -Carlos Castaneda

I was born and raised in Frisco, Texas where I attended Frisco High School. In 1980 I graduated from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M, Commerce) with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and English. I then attended Texas Tech University School of Law in 1983 where I earned my J.D.

I am Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and I specialize in Criminal Defense. There are more than 70,000 attorneys licensed to practice in Texas. Only 7,000 are board certified. The process to become board certified is voluntary and can only take place after an attorney has been in practice for five years, with a minimum of three years experience in the specialy area.

I am a former Chief Felony Prosecutor and Trial Team Chief in Collin County and prosecuted cases in Collin County for over 15 years. Having spent 24 of my 30 year career exclusively as a trial attorney in Collin County, I have worked with and am very familiar with the practices and procedures of the Judges and prosecutors in our county. I have tried hundreds of trials before juries and Judges, and have tried cases ranging from DWI, Drug Offenses, Sex Offenses, Aggravated Assault, Murder as well as most misdemeanors including felony and misdemeanor probation revocations.

I have lectured at both criminal defense as well as prosecution seminars on various subjects including Successfully Trying DWI cases, Representing Clients at Grand Jury, Sexual Assault cases, Trial Techniques, and Examination of Expert Witnesses. For many years, I served as an attorney/instructor at the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Annual DWI Conference and taught prosecutors state-wide how to successfully try DWI cases. I have been recognized by Texas Monthly as a Super Lawyer for the past few years which is voted upon by lawyers throughout the State and have a "10" rating by AVVO which is an independent attorney rating service. I am a member of the National College for DUI defense and am certified in Practitioner and Instructor in the National Highway Traffic & Safety Administration field sobriety testing. I have also successfully completed several intensive blood testing seminars throughout the nation.

Do yourself and your family a favor and hire an attorney with the knowledge and expertise to be an effective advocate, and has the needed extensive trial experience in Collin County who is willing to fight for your rights.  It would be my privilege to represent you on your case.
