Reviews from clients who's cases have been recently resolved

Mrs Curtis saved my son’s future and no other lawyer in Texas could have achieved this outcome. My son got in trouble and there was absolutely no excuse for his actions, his case had “no defense” from my point of view. We only knew that this will never happen again, but why would the prosecution believe us? What Mrs Curtis did was above and beyond everybody’s expectations. We went from making jail time plans, and trying to fit them with his college plans, to normal life as if nothing happened. Mrs Curtis will find this needle in a haystack to defend you and achieve the best possible outcome to minimize the impact of the criminal offense on your future, or minimize the punishment if convicted. She will also work on correcting your behavior that lead to this offense by sending you to counselling, community service, and other corrective actions. My son was not convicted of the offense and Mrs Curtis was able to reduce the level of the offense, which will allow to have the records expunged in two years. Here are several learnings from this experience:
1) All lawyers sound very good when you talk to them. This is their job. You can be brainwashed by any one of them no matter what they are practically able to do for you. We selected Mrs Curtis based on the AVVO comments by her clients and by looking at the Collin County criminal records. She is Board Certified in criminal law, and there are only 15 lawyers in McKinney who are Board Certified. There may be other good lawyers, but do you want to experiment with your future? Any difference in the cost between lawyers should be ignored as criteria to select a lawyer. Because when it comes to, lets say, jail time of 5 months vs jail time of 5 days with Mrs Curtis, I can guarantee that you would be ready to pay the difference, if any.

2) Most of the people are not familiar with the effects of a criminal offense on the person’s future. All the job applications require a criminal background check. All rental applications also.
All opportunities will be limited. I came across a nonprofit organization when I was looking for community service hours for my son. They declined to take him to work for them for free when I told them that there is a criminal offense charge pending. You need to call Mrs Curtis and do not think that you can do it on your own.

3) Do not talk to the police, prosecutors, or any government official about your case. You may be thinking that you are doing something very smart at the time, but every word you say will go against you, or make it harder for the lawyer to fix. They will also record the conversation secretly without notifying you or asking for your permission. Depending on your offence most of the government officials are required by law to report your conversation with them to authorities. Do not talk about it at your job and any place that you call on the phone. Do not ask the “victim” for your case to talk to anyone. Call Mrs Curtis and talk with her or her office staff only and do what she tells you. Mrs Curtis has office assistants, who handle the office when she is in court. Jose answers the phone usually, very helpful and honest person.

My BAC was .10, but I felt like my case had 3-4 areas of sloppy police work and reasonable doubt, so I interviewed 7 senior-level attorneys and picked Sharon as the one with the most experience in Collin County DUI courts. I paid more to get the very best.
She took the time to hear my story, and together we built a case that was quite strong. We chose a jury trial, and it lasted two full days -- because tiny Sharon fought like a terrier on every point and wrestled the DA's experts to the ground and pinned them.
Verdict was NOT GUILTY !! Who would have thought that my DUI trial would be one of the most exciting, entertaining and satisfying times of my life ?!?

Mrs. Curtis is a no nonsense lawyer. She does not waste anyone's time. She is very direct, knowledgeable and you always know what is going on with your case and she knows what you need to do next. There are a ton of lawyers out there but, I assure you if you pass on hiring Mrs. Curtis for your issue, you are making a major mistake.

When you put your trust in a criminal defense lawyer, put it in Sharon Curtis. She worked every level of my case from the prosecutors to the evidence. She told me what is important and what is not and she kept on point. Sharon knows the Collin County prosecutors and how they work. My case was complicated and she worked diligently on it. We went to trial and she was completely prepared. In the middle of the trial she was able to get a dismissal due to the unreliable complaining witness. You need Sharon Curtis on your side.I would hire her again!!

When I received a DWI charge, I panicked and knew I had to find the best lawyer around to handle my charge. I was referred to Sharon, who immediately met with me and took everything into her hands. Sharon is kind and incredibly knowledgable about how to best handle DWI/DUI situations. She constantly kept me in the loop and helped prepare me for trial. She fought hard to ensure that I received justice in my case and went above and beyond. Thanks to Sharon's dedication and crafty attourney skills, my DWI has been expunged! I have complete faith in knowing that no other lawyer could have handled my case the way she did. If you're looking for a lawyer, I would hands down recommend Sharon a thousand times!

Sharon, was an incredible lawyer, she gave me the most sound advice that I have ever received. I have never been arrested or in trouble. She came up with a game plan for my felony case. I trusted her through the process 100% and results proved it. It took a lot of work on my behalf, but because of her advice my case was no billed as a felony and I was able to put this chapter behind me.

I absolutely dreaded the thought of going to trial for two and a half years. When my day in court finally came, I couldn't believe that I was not anxious or nervous at all. From her opening statement, Sharon put my mind at ease, I actually began to enjoy my trial and not worry about the outcome. Watching Sharon dismantle the arresting officer in my case, was one of the most impressive things I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Sharon was actually able to get him to admit that he was wrong to have arrested me, and that he remembered nothing from the night of my arrest. Sharon was also able to discredit the states professional breathalyzer witness. So much doubt was created that the jury had no other logical choice, than to unanimously find me not guilty.

It's always fascinating to watch someone perform, when it is clear they are the best at what they do. When I was referred to Mrs. Curtis, I was told she was a great Attorney, I would say she is not only great, but the best of the best!

My story is common. I was infront of a judge about to plea guilty on two charges that were not true. Because at 18, young, and a black male I felt as though I had no other choices. Then Ms. Curtis comes up after listening to my charges and gives me her card and says don't plea call me. Well she successfully got me a not guilty on a DUI and possession of marijuana charge. I am now in college majoring in criminal justice to become a defense attorney. She works hard for you and believes in truth!!!
